Known to locals as the Reindeer Tavern, this project takes up approximately one-third of Rowley’s downtown area. It was abandoned for years and proposed by previous developers for demolition. Cummings Architects applied the concept of streetscape and community by designing a new barn and little-house to add to the Reindeer Tavern, creating the natural feel of “Big House Little House Barn”. On the opposite side is the original corner store, retrofitted into the local coffee shop with an apartment above. Main Street in Rowley has now become the spot where the hustle and bustle of the community occurs again.
