This kitchen and family room renovation of a charming 1860s farmhouse in Topsfield gave us a unique design challenge: exposing the home’s original well. Hidden beneath the old kitchen floor, and cut off from the accessible portion of the house’s basement, the old well was still in beautiful condition, filled in over the years with dirt and rock. It was a pleasant surprise to everyone at the site. Another feature of this kitchen include the original fireplace.
The old garage was converted into the extended kitchen and family room space, to allow for a tv and seating area, as well as a beverage center, with shiplap accent wall and new french doors out to the backyard. It’s a bright and airy farmhouse inspired space, with one very cool glass feature, that we know the family will love for years to come.
