“Mathew Cummings is a wonderful architect. We did a major renovation on our house last year and, in beginning the process, I interviewed three architects. Mat was the only one who took time to observe the house as it was and how we lived in it. He asked questions, and began to draw at that first meeting. That gave me some ideas I hadn’t had before, and from then our collaboration grew.
Mat was open to suggestion and brought a creativity to the process that was so impressive. I asked that we not have an addition that looked like an addition, but rather a structure that blended in with the house and our surroundings. What we got was perfect. We had an open house shortly after the project was completed, and one person said that the house looked as though it always should have looked. The design process was a great experience, and having survived the building process, we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
